Warmer Days....

I can't wait for summer.
Check out this rock entrance to the ocean in a white water kayak from 20070803

Yeah, none of it is right, but it's a lot of fun!

Good times. Can't wait for summer.

Fire road ridin' heaven

There are some fun places to go riding.
One of my favorites in the New England area is Calais ME.
There are miles and miles of old logging roads and rivers.

Pit Stop

The El Guapo Way of Fishing. Watch out for leeches!

Am I gonna flip??

Yeah, it's just a little fun

Muddin' it up.

How could you not like a day in the dirt?

Add some riding spots at hazmap.net
I'm dying for some new locations.

Thank god for beater boats

See what can happen when you 1/2 ass your tie-up in a tidal cove.

Just my luck... I didn't check the moon and we had a REAL high tide.
Had to miss out on some fun that day...

City of Rocks ID 2007 05

What a trip. I don't know how, but I managed to get 5 guys to go on this.
Here we are under the Lost Arrow Spire.

We took a week for the trip. 4/5 days climbing and then a travel day to visit some relatives in Pocatello and Hit Lava Hot Springs.

I lived in Pocatello, ID for quite some time and I was dying to go back to one of my favorite climbing locations. Somehow, we all got to SLC at the same time with all of our gear. Note, don't plan on bringing any camp stoves on a commercial flight any time soon. My buddies stove had to find its way into the trash at the departing airport before we could check our luggage. That sucked.

Heres some favorite pics of the trip.

Top of Window Rock, looking towards the Parkinglot Rock, then Bath Rock and the Twin Sisters

Looking into the city from the Incisor

I can't wait to get back there again.

Baja 1000 / 1200

In Sept/Oct 2009, I'm planning to hit the baja 1000
I'm thinking of going with Baja Bound or Chris Haines
Anyone know what's better? I'm prolly going with Baja Bound because I hear they will take you further off the beaten path. My crew of about 10 guys are all fairly experienced and fire roads are gonna get boring after 10 miles.

This is gonna be a trip of a lifetime.

Best part is they're gonna provide me with a bike just like mine.

Speaking of which.... When the Hell is Honda gonna make a CRF650X and retire that ol' XR 650
That monster will be irresistible.

Cinema Gulley Mt Willard, NH

My buddy Dave and I did Cinema Gulley Dec 9 2007, first outing of the year, and we had a great day, weather was mild and we got in about 6 pitches of climbing. We'd never been to Mt Willard before, so it was time to check it out.
Mostly a steep snow field,

but we did some variation to the right up top to make it a bit more interesting.

Above we headed right into some unknown

and found Upper Hitchcock

You can find lotsa info / current conditions for ice climbing at NEIce.com

Roaring Brook Ice Climb NY

We got on this route too.

Lotsa water on the first pitch

Slush on the second

More melt on the 3rd.

Pretty sweet, but melting. Lotsa holes I would not want to fall into.
This was about 3-4' across, and had a full waterfall between the ice and the rock face behind.
No sign of the bottom. But something tells me, you go in there, you're not coming out 'till spring.

What a blast, scary but so rewarding.

Pharaoh Mt Ice route, Adirondack NY

Me and some buddies just hit this route
Pharaoh Mt

Great ice climb!, 3 pitches, NEI 3 or 4 to NEI 2 to NEI 3 Classic, and fat.
We did the approach from E Shore Drive and the Spectacle pond trail head. This leads you on an obvious trail over 3 wooden bridges to Spectacle pond. We set up camp for 1 night on the Mt side of spectacle. This left us with about a 2 mile hike to the route. We should hiked closer. There is another pond between Spectacle and Pharaoh Mt, The mountain side of this pond has some open clearings and would have left us with less than a mile approach. Next time.
